INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S YEAR
For many years the Council has been interested in promoting
Church women's work.
s
Following the Fifth Aseembly of the Asian Church Women'
Conference held in Bangkok, October 1974 , our delegates who
attended the Conference gathered together to share their
concerns on how to implement the Conference recommendations.
As a result a Committee for the Promotion of the Year of
Women emerged. A list of names representing various denomi-
nations was submitted to the Council's Executive Committee
for endorsement and appointment. To respond to the International
Women1s Year, 1975, the Committee proposed two major emphases:
1) to promote the Fellowship of the Least Coin, and
2) to provide leadership training programs for women.
