The Sub-comm ittee has held a number o f meetings with LWS
represen tatives. M aterials concerning program, fin an ce,
personnel and possible structures in the Council have been
studied and discussed.
Subsequently the Sub-committee prepared and submitted to the
HKCC Executive Committee fo r approval an Agreement statin g
the reason and background of LWS tran sferrin g it s programs
and re sp o n sib ilitie s and HKCC accepting th is tra n sfer together
with the follow ing fiv e major statements:
1) That as from January 1 s t , 1976 , a ll property, equipment,
machines, to o ls, furniture and fix tu re s now owned by
LWF/WS in Hong Kong w ill be tran sferred to the HKCC
with but one exception: the Scoail Service Centre at
33 G ranville Road, Kowloon and that th is exception is
lis te d to the building fa b ric only, not to fix tu re s,
furniture and equipment in the building; and
2) That as regards the said Social Service Centre, th is
building w ill be placed at the disposal of the HKCC
for the purpose of carrying out so cial service a c tiv itie s
and, moreover, leg al t i t l e to the building w ill be
conveyed by the Lutheran World Federation Board of
Trustees to the HKCC in 1986, the year in which expires
the stip u lation by the Central Agency in Germany that
the building remain the property of the Lutheran World
Federation fo r a period of 20 years a fte r 1966; and
3) That with e ffe c t from January 1 s t , 1976, the fin an cial
assets of LWF/WS in Hong Kong wi l l be tran sferred in f u ll
to the HKCC to be used fo r the continued adm inistration
and operation of the former LWF/WS programme; and
4) That with e ffe c t from January 1 s t , 1976, the Lutheran
World Federation, Geneva, w ill accept fu ll re sp o n sib ility
fo r the salary of the present LWF/WS D irector, The
Reverend K. L. Stumpf, including housing allowance and
other b en efits now availab le to him u n til his retirem ent
in December 1978, th is assurance being on the understanding
