CHRISTIAN CONFERENCE OF ASIA AND WORLD COUNCIL OF CHURCHES OPEN
OFFICES IN HONG KONG
Over the years the Hong Kong Christian Council' Division of
s
Service has worked closely with the Asian Christian Service. The
Division has purchased supplies, especially medicine, for the Asian

Service office from Vientiane, Laos to Hong Kong. Mr. Frans Tumiwa
is the Director.

as Technical Consultant to be responsible for its work. Both of
these Christian Conference of Asia offices are located on the
Council's 4th floor, 57 Peking Road, Kowloon.

"aid" is "who is helping whom?" About two years ago through joint
sponsorship of the World Council of Churches and the Christian
Conference of Asia, a research was conducted by the World Council
of Churche's Commission on Inter-Church Aid, Refugee and World
Service, Material Aid Secretary, Mr. Helmut Reuschle. The purpose
was to study the material resources in Asia. As a result of the
study, Mr. Reuschle was asked to come to Hong Kong for an initial
period of 14 months to explore the findings. Mr. Reuschle and his
family arrived in Hong Kong in early May. His office will be located
in the Hong Kong Christian Service Center, 33 Granville Road, Kowloon.
