to aid the local church in its own programme. These training
workshops will continue through the coming year.
3) Broadcasting:
At mid-year 1974 the SEARV Directorate meeting in Manila
suspended short wave operations. The Manila office was closed
out and the equipment transferred to Radio Veritas. The various
related programme production centres were given reduced budgets
which would permit them to carry on maintenance for the year
while the future of SEARV programming was redifined and worked
out with Radio Veritas. Conversations are now in progress to
resume programming in cooperation with Radio Veritas. No date
for resuming of transmission has been set.
4 ) World Association for Christian Communication:
Dr. Heyward Wong represented the Communications Department in
the regional organization of the World Association for Christian
Communication which met in Singapore in late February 1975.
There he was elected to be cne of the Asian members of the
W .A.C.C.’s new Central Committee. Dr. Wong has also represented
the Council on the SEARV Directorate Committee.
5) Hong Kong Christian Broadcasting:
Local broadcasting over Radio Hong Kong has continued with
little change from last year. This religious programming is
planned and carried out by a committee of local church repre-
sentatives who were invited by government to form both the
Chinese and the English Advisory Committees on Religious
Broadcasting and TV. These representatives are appointed by
the denominations involved. The Chinese Advisory Committee
representatives are from the Chinese Methodist Church, the
Church of Christ in China, the Hong Kong Baptist Association,
the Roman Catholic Church and the Sheng Kung Hui. The English
