              Ecumenical Library Committee

The Ecumenical Library Committee has not been very active
this year. A steno-librarian, Miss Patrician Chan was appointed.
Steps will be taken to have the library more fully used than
it is at the moment. Suggestions have been made that the library
should be available for night reading, conversation and refresh-
              ment in the afternoon.

Committee on Missionary Orientation and Language Study

In the fall of 1969 an Orientation Program was held by this
Committee at the Shum Oi Church in Shek Kip Mei for newly arrived
missionaries. The program consisted of a presentation regarding
Chinese Ways of Thinking and a panel discussion on the subject of
relations between missionaries and Chinese, plus two films on
Hong Kong. The Committee is planning a Missionary Fellowship
Night for a broader group of missionaries in June, 1970.

A number of areas are open for future discussion including
the consideration of the role of missionaries in Hong Kong today.

DIVISION FOR EDUCATION AND C O M MUNICATION

The Division for Education and Communication is concerned
with the equipping of Church members for their part in the
'dhurches task. The main committees in this division are Christian
Education, which until now is mainly concerned with training
church members, and the Audio Visual Evangelism Committee which
provides material for educational use. Both committees have
reference to the wider community as well as the Church. Education
must be concerned with the development of the mental, physical
and spiritual capacities of all people throughout the community,
and the Audio Visual Evangelism Committee must be concerned with
the impact of mass media on everyone’ understanding of life.

to function. During the year the Committee had sent mobile teams

              the point of their need.
