the Committee is making plans looking toward  to the first of these
             in 1970o  A poster contest has been announced.  Plans for a
             service of dedication of leaders in the Christian Education,
             program,  are being worked out.  A consultation is planned to
             discuss the Christian Education needs in Hong Kong.

             Hong Kong Kindergarten Teachers'  Association - Through the
             enthusiastic leadership of Miss Angela Chiu,  this Association has
             held three rallies in this year with an attendance of well over
             three hundred each time.  This program has proved very popular,
             and helpful.

             Religious Education Association - The Committee has applied for
             membership in the Religious Education Association.

             Secretary for Christian Education - The Committee continues to
             realize the need for someone to give at least part-time to the
             guideance of the activities of this Committee.  No one has been
             found who can do this,  but the hope continues.

             Ecumenical Scholarship Exchange Com)aittee

                  The purposes of the Committee are:

                  1.  To collect information from various sources concerning
                       courses of full-time study and special educational
                       conferences abroad which might be made available to
                       Christian students in Hong Kong.  Special attention will
                       be  given to educational opportunities of an ecumenical
                       nature;  that is,  opportunities involving the World Council
                       of Churches,  the East Asia Christian Council or various
                       national Councils and church-related institutions abroad.

                  2.  To make this information available to all denominations
                       and church-related organizations and educational
                       institutions affiliated with the Council.

                  3.  To review student applications coming from the organizations
                       affiliated with the Council.


                  k.  To provide whatever assistance to the students selected
                       for study abroad as might currently be at its disposal.

                  During the year 3 types of scholarships were available:

                  l.  One Visiting Fellowship of $1,500 will be available at
                       the  Canadian School of Missions and Ecumenical Institute,
                       Toronto,  in each of the academic years 1969-70 and 1970-71.


                            The purpose of this Felloship is to enable a scholar
                       with prior experience and interest in the fields of
                       Missions or Ecumenics to spend an academic year  (or
                       portion thereof)  at  the Institute doing research in some
                       subjects within one of these fields.

                            Preference will be given to men and women,  ordained
                       or lay,  between the ages of 28 and 40,  who have already
                       had experience of the mission field or of ecumenical
                       activity,  and who give promise of producing original work
                       which may promote the course of the Church's Mission in
                       Unity.


                  2.  One Ecumenical Scholarship Exchange Scholarship - The
                       purpose of this scholarship is to enable a student to do post-
                       graduate  studies in the USA.

                  3 .  East Asia Christian Churches Scholarships - There are 26
                       free places offered by Colleges and Universities in the
                       East Asia Countries.
