At the request of the Committee, the Hong Kong Christian
Council designated the second Sunday in September as Christian
Education Sunday. In preparation for this a poster and
bulletin covers were designed by the Committee and used by
                     many churches.

The Hong Kong Christian Kindergarten Teachers' Association,
under the leadership of Miss Angelia Chiu, held three rallies
during the year, with a total attendance of over one thousand
                     teachers.

Lay Training, the need for it and procedures for meeting
the need, have been discussed and explored by the Committee.

                     Ecumenical Scholarship Exchange Committee

The Committee was broadened and reformulated in June 1971
and charged with the following responsibilities:

                        (1) to serve as liaison with the World Council of Churches
                              Scholarship Exchange Programme.

                        (2) to serve as liaison with the EACC Scholarship Programme.

                        (3) to locate other available scholarships.

                        (4) to assist and encourage local people to take advantage
of existing opportunities for further studies.

The Committee met once during the year to deal with
several applications for scholarships and to plan for the
fulfilment of its other responsibilities. Otherwise the
business of the Committee was carried on by correspondence.

                     Scholarships Awarded

                        (1) EACC Scholarship: Rev. Silas Wong Fook-yu to study
in India. The place is still to be fixed.

                        (2) WCC Scholarship: Mr. Raymond Fung Wai-man to study
in McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. There
is still some question about whether Mr. Fung will accept
the WCC Scholarship or one from McCormick Seminary.

                        (3) Another enquiry reached the Committee after the deadline
for applications and the person concerned was invited
                              to apply for next year.

                     Information on Other Scholarships

                        (1) A file of information on various scholarship programmes
has been opened. The convenor contributed several items
from a file kept by the Theology Division in Chung Chi
                              College.
