(2)  The correspondent of the Committee was requested to
                        write to various known scholarship programmes to ask
                        for updated information and application forms.

                  (3)  The  correspondent was also requested to write the
                        Education Departments of the Christian Council related
                        churches overseas to ask for information on any available
                        scholarship programmes.

                  (4)  The Committee decided to concentrate first on collecting
                        information on programmes for graduate study for layman
                        and pastors and then at a later stage extend its scope
                        to include undergraduate scholarships.

                Audio Visual Evangelism Committee

                1.  Conferences and General Activities

                         The AVEC staff were busily involved in workshops
                    sponsored by the SODEPAX joint committee for Development
                     and Chinese Christian Broadcasters Conference which were
                     held during the fall.

                         A number of visitors including Bishop Francis Hsu from
                     Roman Catholic paid visits to AVEC in the year.

                         In 1971 the staff was also involved in the leadership
                     training workshops or assistance at the Council’ Unity
                                                                               s
                    Octave,  United Christian Hospital Ceremony and Annual
                    General meeting.  In addition,.workshops for YMCA leadership
                    Institute,  Concordia Theological students,  Movie projector
                     operation and Christmas decoration training workshops for
                     school and church teachers,  and visual aids session for
                     Roman Catholic teachers were conducted by the office.
                     The highlight was in cooperation with the Lutheran World
                     Federation Broadcasting Services to begin a  survey of all
                     churches to locate the members who are involved in any
                     form of work in communications.

                2.  Visual Aids Department

                          Three new films and about 20 Coronet educational films
                     were added to the library in 1971.  About 13 sound cassettes
                     in use with filmstrips were also produced during the year.

                         As regards for the usage of films and filmstrips.  It
                     was averaged about 4 titles of films daily and 1 title of
                     filmstrip per day.

                3.  Technical Department

                         In view of bilingual need in meetings,  AVEC provides a
                     simultaneous translation system.  There are 150 sets
                    available on rental base.
