(3) More Integrated Council
There shall be two Divisions - the Division of
Christian Mission and the Division of Christian
Service, and an Area of Communication. With the
merger of Audio Visual Evangelism Committee into the
Area of Communication and Hong Kong Christian Service
into the Division of Christian Service, the Council has
become a more organic and stronger unity with greater
concentration of resources and less duplication of
efforts. Also the General Secretary instead of
working alone, shall be working as a team with the
directors of the Divisions, so as to ensure an overall
policy and better internal co-ordination.
C. Self-Lowered Ceiling of Project Listing of Commission on
Inter-Church Aid, Refugee and World Service (CICARWS)
In response to a World Council Churches appeal to all
National Christian Councils to reconsider the ceiling of
each country in terms of their need, the Council cut dovm
the Hong Kong ceiling from US$60,000 to US$40,000.
D . Vietnam Reconstruction Fund
Following the Cease-fire announcement on January 24 , 1973,
the Council appealed to the Churches and society for the
Vietnam Reconstruction Fund. Generous donations were
received from local churches and university community.
Special mention should be made of the contribution from
the Roman Catholic Church under the leadership of the
late Bishop Francis Hsu who gave 1/3 of this total
collection for Vietnam to the Fund. Up to to-day, the
fund has amounted to HK$68,167.85.
E. Sumaga Girls' Vocational Training School, Sri Lanka
Hong Kong Christian Council with its auxiliary bodies and
member churches in their many projects has been helped by
donations from World Council of Churches. For the first
