             2. Christian Citizenship Movement Committee

Because of the rapid growth i n population, In industrialization
and in urbanization, i t can not be doubted that there has been a
general deterioration of marality among the people of Hong Kong.
This has caused great concern among some Christian leaders for the
li f e and work o f the people whom the churches have been called to
serve. For this reason, the Christian Citizenship Movement Committee
was organized in 1956. The objectives of this Committee are:

                       1. to promote the study of social problems and of the rele-
vance o f the Christian fa ith and influence towards their
                            solution.
                       2. to strengthen the sense of responsib ilit y in the common
li f e of our city.
