The College Student Work Projects Student Retreat was held
from February 7th to 8th 1976, at the YWCA Youth Camp in Lantao.
There were 81 workstudents participating. The main purpose of the
camp was to enable new College student Work Projects students to
understand the objectives of the CSWP scheme and to provide an
opportunity for present CSWP students to exchange experience and
concerns.
We are grateful for the continued interest and support to this
program from the Church World Service, the U.S. Aid for Refugee
Migration of the American Consulate General, "Bread for the World"
in Germany, the World Council of Churches and the Rotary Club of
Kowloon North.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE TOUR PROGRAMME
(1 ) Adults and Overseas Visitors
During the year over 350 people joined our tours. It
is interesting to note that among the people who have attended
our tours, a large percentage of the participants were profes-
sional social workers, college professors, Government servants
and other professional people. They were from the local
community as well as from abroad.
(2) Hong Kong Youth
In order to provide opportunity for students and youth
in general to understand the needs of their community a
"Know Your Community Tour" has been sponsored by the Hong Kong
Christian Council. These tours operate five days a week for
a period of two months in the Summer. These were first
offered in 1974. The response to the Summer tours was
encouraging. The number of participants in 1975 was 840.
This led to the decision to repeat the service again in the
Summer 1976.
