therefore has an important part to play in the Church’s task
in Hong Kong. This has been recognized by the establishment
of the Industrial Committee as an operating body.

                  Youth Committee

The Youth Committee of the Council was formed in 1963. During
the past few years, we had been able to do the following:

                     1. Worked out a constitution for this Committee.

                     2. Called meetings for youch leaders of different churches
to discuss youth problems in Hong Kong and to make plans
for joint efforts in church youth work.

                     3. Organized local consultations for church youth and youth
                          workers.

                     4. Selection of 7 youth delegates to the 1st Asian Christian
Youth Assembly, 4 delegates to E.A.C.C. Youth Seminar
and 3 delegates to the E.A.C.C. Hong Kong Consultation.

5 . Organized United Prayer Services for church youth.
                     6. Sponsored a photo competition on the Hong Kong youth today.

                     7. Organized a Youth Rally for all church youth.

                     8. Acted as host for the E.A.C.C. Youth Committee Meetings which
met in Hong Kong to make plans for their Singapore and
Hong Kong Youth Consultation and Training Institutes.
During the year, the EACC Youth Consultation on Development
was held in Hong Kong at the Morrison House during July 2-10, 1970
with 64 delegates and consultants from the EACC Countries and
other parts of the world participated in the Consultation. The
Youth Committee of the Council formed a local arrangement
committee to give assistance in all local arrangements.
With urgent need to co-ordinate and promote youth work among
the churches, during the past years the Youth Committee had
tried to recruit a part/full time Youth Secretary without success.
However, our task in the coming year would be:
                     - to organize seminars and models for youthleadership training,
to relate EACC youth programs to the local churches.
                         to engage in lay training.
                     - to co-ordinate youth activities among churches and Christian
                           schools.
to involve in Christian education in schools.
to plan and to initiate creative programs and project for youth.
