We are happy to report that during the year, an ESE
Scholarship was awarded to Mr. Kong Pao Ling to study in
Princeton Theological Seminary in U.S.A. We have also received
one application for the same scholarship for 1970 - 1971. The
above scholarships .are still available for the Academic year
1970 - 1971. Those interested should apply now.
AUDIO VISUAL EVANGELISM COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Audio Visual Evangelism Committee is to
promote the use of audio visual resources in presenting the Christian
message by a growing number of churches, missions and groups.
AVEC has two departments, Visual Aids and Broadcasting, carried
out its programs.
The firm evidence of results in the Visual Aids department can
be seen in the growing use of the Cantonese dubbed sound tracks.
As soon as we are finished with the dubbing of the sound track,
the usage of the films increase. With increasing costs in ongoing
budgets, we have cut down Prison showings from 238 in 1965 to 114
in 1968. We hope to interest local churches in underwriting this
as part of their local outreach.
Our workshops this past year have frequently had immediate
results in the use of the less sophisticated forms of Visual Aids.
Bringing teachers and leaders to the centre has often resulted in
several of the participants staying longer to preview and rent
out filmstrips. Others have come back later to begin using
filmstrips.
