preparations for that occasion.
Youth Committee
Before looking at the work done by the Committee, it will be
helpful to a review the plans set by past committees.
(a) The 1967/68 Committee - Envisioned having a full-time or part
time Programme Secretary and in view of this made three main
suggestions:
(1) A short intensive Youth Leadership Training Course to be
held for youth from all churches.
(2) To establish a postal and direct youth counselling service
to deal personal and employment problems of young people and
(3) To have a Youth page in the "Christian Weekly", contents of
which would be compiled either by the committee members or
Editor of the Christian Weekly.
(b) 1968/69 Committee - The Committee was uncertain about the
appointment of a Programme Secretary and therefore was unable
to undertake recommendations made by the 1967/68 Committee. In
view of the limited abilities of the Committee, members drew up
a new plan for the current year.
(1) Calling consultations on youth work with the church youth,
and then with church youth workers.
(2) Organising church youth rallies.
(3) Introducing certain tried and successful youth programmes
to other churches.
(4) Coordination.
Accomplishments
(a) Two members were appointed to assist the Youth Tea House program
during the summer 1968. They helped to recruit volunteers and to
plan the experiment of the Tea Houses undertaken by the both
Protestant and Catholic organizations.
(b) A request was made by the Youth Department, WCC for a survey of
out-of-school youth work. The committee helped to compile the
forms and enabled the HKCC to make a reply.

International Christian Youth Exchange, After careful consideration,
it was decided to ask the Committee Chairman to represent and to
assist such work for the time being.

a Meeting of the WCC called "Youth and Unemployment".
(e) The Committee sponsored a Consultation for church youth and youth
