In order to further develop our co-ordinating and interpreting
efforts the monthly newsletter, Christian Service News, was improved
and its circulation increased. Christian Welfare Tours twice a
week helped many overseas visitors as well as local residents to
see actual projects operated by Christian Agencies.

The Material Aids Department handled nearly one million pounds
of food and clothing. Most of which had been donated by Churches
in the United States through Church World Service. During the
year our priorities were revised in order to give more assistance
to maternal and child feeding categories. At Christmas a total
of 142,0l6 pounds of food and clothing were allocated to serve
                  42,000 needy people,

The Work Projects Department continued to produce high quality
knitted garments, ties and smocked dresses on the rooftop of Wang
Tau Horn Resettlement Estate. The Haven of Hope Hospital asked HKCS
for help in marketing its handicraft, articles and an agreement
for an one-year trial was agreed upon. It is hoped that through
this joint effort more sales can be made.

The College Student Work Project decided to join HKCS and
became its third department. It served on the average of 212
students per month. Through monthly grant of HK$120.00 the
Department was able to help these needy students continue their
college education while at the same time, the students helped
many churches and voluntary agencies in their programme.

The TB Injection Clinic and Mobile Dental Van are still
operating to serve needy people in resettlement areas and the New
Territories. There were totally 639 patients received.treatment
at the TB Clinic and 45,774 injections were given during the year.
A total of 55 ,732 persons received dental care from our Mobile
                  Dental Clinic.

Although all of these efforts at co-ordination and operation
involved only a segment of the total services in Hong Kong, they
were never considered apart from the community as a whole. We will
seek to raise the level of local support through various self
financing plans. The secondment of Mr. Colin Morrison, former
Director of HKCWS, to guide the development of a Community Chest
aimed at helping all Voluntary Agencies in Hong Kong was a major
contribution. In the future we vail move quickly to meet changing
needs in a rapidly shifting situation and wo vail look forward
to closer relationship with Hong Kong Christian Council.

                   General
The programme this year has been handicapped by the absence of
the Director, on furlough in the USA. The Executive Committee and
staff have carried on but will be glad to have Mr. Lung back again
                   in June.

Mr. Horatius Kwok and Mr. Harry Ng represented Audio Visual
Evangelism Committee at the EACC Mass Communication Consultation,
"Confessing Christ through Mass Communication", held in Seoul,
Korea, October 10-16, 1967. This conference was sponsored jointly
by the Broadcasting and Audio Visual Activities Committee (BAVACO)
                   and the Literature Committee.

The two men were able at the same time to observe audio-visual
and radio-TV set-ups in Korea and Japan.

SEARV/Hong Kong: After many set-backs the large new South East
