• 4. Christian Family Life Promotion Committee Membership of this
Committee increased
from 15 to 20 last year; and its work has widened in scope.
The constitution of the Committee has been drafted^ and approved
by the Hongkong Christian Council. It w ill become effective in May,
1963.
A sub-committee was formed to prepare the materials for the
Christian Family Life Week in May I963. It is hoped that a pamphlet
w ill be published next year, the material of which w ill be suitable
both for parenthood and childhood.
Two evening programmes for the promotion of Christian Family
Life were arranged in May, Besides a short service and address,
there was an introduction on Christian literature in the evening
programmes. The main address was given by Mrs, Rayan Ma in Hong
Kong, while a panel discussion was led by Rev, Tsang Wah Po, Rev,
Ho Sai Ming and Rev. Lee Kai Wing in the Chinese Methodist Church,
Kowloon. The topics for the discussion and the talk were mainly
concerning the basic concepts of the Christian Home,
Last year, the committee nominated Miss Wong Po Yiu (The Associate
General Secretary of Hongkong Y.W.C.A.) and Miss Rita Luk (Secretary
o f the Women's Department of the Hongkong Council of the Church, o f
Christ in China) as our delegates to attend the Second Asian Christian
Church Women's Conference, which was held in November 12th to 23rd,
1962 in Petchburi, Thailand. The theme of the conference was "Launch
out into the Deep". Following the conference, a Consultation on the
Christian Home was held in the same place for 6 days, Mr. Calvin
Ngai attended this Conference as the Hongkong delegate.
