Asian Regional Meeting of the Christian Medical Commission of the World Council
of Churches held in Japan.
M a y The Supplement Pamphlet on the Basic Law was published, commenting on the
provisions concerning religious freedom to be incorporated into the Basic Law.
The Five Loaves and Two Fish Campaign launched a fund-raising drive for the
vicitms of the forest fire of Heilongjiang Province in North-East China.

The Women's Committee of the Christian Conference of Asia held its North-East
Asia sub-regional Consultation in Japan which was attended by seven women from
Hong Kong.
May 15-19 The Health Concern Committee organized an official tour to Conghua.

The Colloquium of Religious Leaders held its first meeting for 1987 at the Council
The Council's Executive Committee wrote a letter to Mr. David Ford the Chief
Secretary, expressing its views on the Public Order (Amendment) Ordinance.

The Executive Committee passed a resolution to call upon all local churches to
actively discuss the Green Paper on the Further Development of Representative
Government in Hong Kong and reflect their opinions to the authorities.

The Council assisted in arrangements for the meeting of the General Committee
of the Christian Conference of Asia.
