strengthen links and ties with youths in China.

Centre.
Dec 22 Commission on Public Policy together w ith 12 .student, worker and Christian bodies
issued a public statement in support o f the black people's struggle for human rights in
South A frica and held an anti-apartheid meeting at A ll Saints' Anglican Church.
1986
January Five Loaves & Two Fish Fund Campaign asked the British Armed Forces in Hong Kong
to deliver over 5,000 woolen sweaters it had collected to Ethiopia. Arrangements were
also made for Mr. Water Poon, a renowned local photographer to photograph the
famine situation in Ethiopia and Sudan.
Jan 8 Promotional meeting for the World Day o f Prayer.
Jan 13 — 18 A delegation o f clergyman in Hong Kong o f Chiuchow and Swatow origin visited the
churches in their home territories at the invitation o f the Guangdong Christian Council.
Jan 19 - 23 Week o f Prayer For Christian U nity. This year's theme: "Y ou Shall Be My Witnesses".
The U nity Committee specially published a devotion manual fo r churches.
Mid-Decade Mission Consultation’’ was held at Ward Memorial Methodist Church to
affirm the Church s com m itm ent to Hong Kong during the political transition and to
set new mission priorities.
Jan 23 1986 Week o f Prayer for Christian U nity was inaugurated w ith Eucharist followed by
breakfast.
Jan 31 — Feb 1 HKCC staff annual picnic.
Feb 5 - 14 Mr. Philip Lam and Mr. Ng Shui-lai, Deputy Director o f Hong Kong Christian Service
were invited by CCA to attend the "Education for Development" conference in Sydney,
Australia. They also visited some local fund-raising agencies for friendly exchange.
