Aug 31                 Communications  Centre  staged  a  pre-view  for  principals and  religious education teachers
                             from   Christian  secondary  school  to  promote  the  Religious  and  Moral  Education Video
                             Series.

      Sept 17                Educational  Concerns  Committee  published  a  critique  o f  the  Education  Department's
                             "Guidelines On Civic  Education  In  Schools" on  Ming  Pao, a Chinese daily.

      Sept 6 .1 3 ,2 0   &  27  Tw o  hundred  clergymen  and  lay  people  attended  4  lectures  on"Christians  and  the
                             Basic  Law " at A ll Saints' Anglican Church.

      Sept 24                HKCC  held  its  A.G.M.  at  the  Salvation  Arm y's  new  Headquarters.  A  resolution  was
                             passed  to  allocate  HK$234,000  from   the  Five  Loaves  &  Two  Fish  Fund  to  Mexico
                             fo r earthquake  relief.

      October                Communications  Centre  finished  two  videoes  on  Mr.  V ictor  Liu  who  was  a  cancer
                             patient.  A  two-month  photography  course  was  launched  for  the  volunteers  o f  the
                             Centre.
      Oct 6                  46th World-wide Communion.

      Oct  17                HKCC's  Chairman,  Rev.  Lincoln  Leung  was  appointed  representative  of  the  Protestant
                             com m unity  to the  Basic  Law Consultative Committee.
      Oct 20                 Health  Concern  Committee  sponsored  the  Health  Sunday.  The  theme:  "C om m unity
                             Health” .
      Oct 25  -  31          The  leaders  o f  HKCC's  member  churches  and  the  members  o f  HKCC's  Executive
                             Committee  visited  Nanjing  and  WuXie  at  the  invitation  o f  the  Christian  Council  o f
                             Jiangzu  in China.

      November 2 - 3         HKCC  and  SCM-HK  jo in tly  sponsored  the  "H ong  Kong  Christian  Youth  Assembly"
                             to  provide  an  opportunity  fo r young Christians to explore  new mission  frontiers fo r the
                             church.
      Nov 4  —13             Health  Concern  Committee  played  host  to  a  Social  Service  study  group  from

                             Guangdong  which  wished  to  get  acquainted  w ith  the  various  social  services  provided
                             by  the Church  in  Hong Kong.
      Nov  1 2 - 1 3         Clergy  and  ministers  fellowships  o f  Kwun  Tong,  Shamshuipo  and Kowloon C ity joined
                             forces  to   hold the 4th  Joint D istrict Clergy &  Ministers Retreat at the Catholic Diocesan
                             Retreat House  in  Chung Hom  Kok.

      Nov  16                Communications  Centre  staged  the  second  Religious  &  Moral  Education  video  preview
                             fo r  principals  and  teachers  from   ron-Christian  secondary  schools  and  social  workers.

      Nov  21  -   30        Ms.  Siu  Cheuk  Fan  ana  Ms.  Chung  Yuk  Sum  were  sent  to  attend  the  Asian  Feminist
                             Theology Conference in  Manila.

      December               The  Educational  Concerns  Committee  published  a new  book entitled  "Democratisation
                             o f School  A dm inistration".
                             Communications  Centre  submitted  its  opinions  o f  the  Broadcasting  Review  Board
                             Report to the authorities which  were published  on  Ming  Pao.
