1985
May Communications Centre completed tw o slides presentations: "Gospel To The
Low-incom ed" and "The New Mission Movement’’, and embarked on producing
13 videoes for the Religious and Moral Education series.
May 27 Executive Secretary Mr. Philip Lam reported on the famine situation in Ethiopia with a
slides presentation in a clergy meeting.
May 31 Commission On Public Policy published an article on The Legislative Council Power
And Privileges Bill 1985 in a local Chinese daily the Hong Kong Economic Jourr
Criticising the content o f the Bill.
June “ Message” published an extra issue reviewing the Legislative Council Power And
1 Privileges Bill.
Ms. Christina Lam was sent to attend the 9th Asian Ecumenical Course in South Korea.
June 8 Commission On Public Policy held the second Christian D istrict Board Members meeting
at A ll Saints' Anglican Church. The theme: "The Future Development o f the Legislative
C ouncilM.
June 9 HKCC and Hong Kong Catholic Social Communications O ffice jo in tly sponsored the
Communications Sunday. The theme: ‘‘Social Communications For the Christian
Formation o f Y o u th ’’.
June 1 0 — 1 5 96 Form 5 graduates participated in the 11th Senior Students Personal Development
Retreat held at Hoh Fuk Tong Centre.
June 15 — Jul y 2 An official HKCC delegation attended the 8th CCA General Assembly in Seoul.
July 22 —Aug 17 "Summer With A Purpose” was held at the A rm y’s Lo Wu Camp.
July 2 3 - 2 8 Ms. Annie Wong, officer-in-charge o f the Communications Centre attended the regional
conference o f W.A.C.C. and was elected to the Executive Committee.
August ‘‘Natural Heritage", a slides project on the living realities o f women in Hong Kong
began shooting.
Aug 23 Pre-meeting o f the Mid-Decade Mission Consultation was held at Chung Chi College's
Theology Building.
Aug 26 A "Fem inist Theology Forum " was conducted at YWCA's Ann Black Centre to look
at the experiences o f women in Hong Kong and the development o f fem inist theology.
The theme: ‘‘Women & Men Are One In C hrist” . A jo in t statement was later issued
condemning the distortion o f women's image by a series o f beauty pageantry on T.V.
Aug 29 - Sept 8 General Secretary Rev. Kwok Nai-wang visited overseas fraternal church organizations
in London, Uppsala, Geneva and Stuttgart.
