1 "Love your neighbor and learn to share”

This is the th ird year th a t we have conducted a
fun d compaign to help those in need outside o f Hong
Kong. We began w ith the fem ine in the A frican Sahel.
This year the drive was o ffic ia lly named "Share your
five loaves and tw o fishes’’ campaign. The slogan was
"L ove you r neighbor, learn to share.’’ Though we
live in a small geographical place, our com bined gifts
can help friends all over the w o rld ! This year we
began our campaign on Ash Wednesday, the beginning
o f Lent. A ll o f our members participated in one form
or another. The largest am ount was gathered by the
Church o f Christ in China — to ta llin g over 100,000
dollars HK. A ltogether, the receipts were nearly
H K $ 155,000.00.
The funds w ill be distributed by the W orld
Council o f Churches. One half w ill be shared w ith the
Baptist Seminary in Burma, the Nacazavanam Rehabili-
tatio n Centre in Sri Lanka, and St. Peter's School fo r
the M entally Retarded in Korea. The rem aining half
o f our funds w ill be divided equally w ith agricultural
and medical projects in India and Bangladesh and
general w o rld emergency fun d o f the W orld Council.
