It is good to know that many churches have observed the Sundays
                 as suggested.

Informal discussion with local church leaders From time to time,
the Committee has invited small group ox church leaders who are in
                  "policy-making" positions to explore p o s s ib ilitie s of a greater unity
among churches by closer co-operation. In th eir discussions widely-
d ifferin g opinions were fre e ly expressed, but a ll helpful in pre-
paring us for one-ness as we respond to His Call and conmit ourselves
                 in His Mission.

church exchange o f students, were available in a variety of countries,
such as Austria, France, Germany Greece, Ita ly , the Netherlands, the
Scandinavian Countries, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the
United States, as w ell as in special cases in Asia and Africa.

service and have completed a ll or most of th eir basic theological

             7. Industrial Committee

I t is d iffic u lt to evaluate the work o f the Industrial Committee
over the past year without a great deal o f uneasiness. The Committee
it s e lf, given the structures, personalities, and situation of the
churches in Hong Kong, has been able to make only slow progress in
facing the challenge of th is great industrial complex and its
thousands o f workers. With p it ifu lly few exceptions the churches
have chosen to rely on antiquated methods in a new age. They have
chosen to ignore the industrial worker except as an object of
ch arily. As fa r as evangelism goes i t is fe lt apparently that i f
the workers are not responding to the Gospel i t is th eir fau lt not
                  the church’ s.
