IV. REVIEW OF THE COUNCIL'S STRUCTURE
The Hong Kong Christian Council is planning a special programme
in A pril, 1965 to mark its 10th Anniversary. The time seems ripe fo r
a careful review o f its structure. I t is fe lt that the Council now
has too many Committees set up during the decade: the relation between
the Hong Kong Christian Council and the Hong Kong Christian Welfare &
R elief Council needs to be reviewed. The Audio Visual Evangelism
Committee o f the Council has fe lt that in order to meet increasing needs,
i t would be desirable fo r i t to become a Division of the Council. In
September, 1964 a le tte r was received from Church World Service, Hong
Kong O ffice, applying fo r membership of the Council.
The Hong Kong Christian Welfare & R elief Council then took the
in itia tiv e by sending an o ffic ia l request asking the Council to consider
making i t a Social Division o f the Hong Kong Christian Council. In
consequence, the Council formed a special committee to study the
p o s s ib ilitie s of reorganizing the Council's structure.
After several meetings and much discussion, the consensus of
opinion was that the Council should create three divisions, so as
to cover the tasks which are at present undertaken by various
committees.
These 3 Divisions as proposed are:-
A. Division o f Joint Action.
B. Division of Christian Education.
C. Division of Social Service.

following Committees:
1. Christian Citizenship Movement Committee

3. Family L ife Committee
4. Ecumenical Scholarship Exchange Committee
5. Committee on Church Unity
6. Industrial Committee
B. The Division of Christian Education Committee w ill include the
