(e) Christian Cemetery
During the period Government offered us a piece of land in the Woh
Hop Shek Public Cemetery as a Christian Cemetery. Actually the site
is identical with the old Christian Cemetery section of Woh Hop Shek,
but Government retains every right to reclaim the land and to control
the burials. Since the Council cannot claim any benifits from it and
it will be an extra burden to the Christians who used to bury in the
section, the Council may have to consider an alternative scheme.
16. Relationship with the Council on Christian Literlature for Overseas
Chinese__________________________ __________________________ _______
The CCLOC was formally admitted as a member on April 18, 1960 by
the General Council. All along we have had very smooth co-operation.
The CCLOC helped with the printing and translation of the Pre-World
Council Assembly booklet, prayers for Church Unity, prayers for the
Women's World Day of Prayer, as well as with printing the Christian
Citizenship booklets and cartoons.
17. Relationship with the Study Centre
Up till now no formal relationship has been made between the Centre
and the Council. The Centre considers that the status of membership
would be the correct one, as they have pointed out that their sphere
of operations extended to countries abroad and that they needed
full autonomy in their contacts with non-Christians.
18. Permanent Secretary
With the work ever expanding it is very necessary to have a full
time Secretary. The qualification of such a Secretary have been out-
lined but up till now it has not been possible to secure such a man,
after many futile attempts. However there is every hope of employing
a full time secretary in the fall of 1961.
