Greetings from the Council for World Mission.

Thank you for your letter dated 19 May 2004, inviting me to attend the 50th
Anniversary of the founding of the Hong Kong Christian Council.

Unfortunately I am unable to attend the occasion due to other commitments. My
thoughts will be with you on the occasion and I would be grateful if you would pass
on the following greetings.
On behalf of the Council for World Mission, I send greetings in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ to the Hong Kong Christian Council on the occasion of its 50"'
anniversary.

We value greatly the wider circle of ecumenical friends and partners. As such, we
praise God with you, for His goodness and mercy to Hong Kong. We pray that the
Holy Spirit will inspire, guide and strengthen the Hong Kong Christian Council, and
the peoples it serves in the years ahead.

I trust the preparations will go to plan and that the occasion will be a great blessing
and encouragement to all those who are in attendance.
