                non-projocted  aids  workshops  in  Korea,  Taiwan,  the  Philippines  and
                Thailand,  under  the  leadership  of  Rev.  Denis  Saunders  of  the  Meth-
                odist  Mission  Society  in  London.  We  received  regular  script  informa-
                tion  and  sample  scripts  fo r   both  broadcasting  and  TV  from  WACB.
                We  are  expecting  a  Broadcasters  Workbook  which  is   presently  being
                prepared  and  produced  by  WACB.

                BROADCASTING  DEPARTMENT
                -*SEARV/HONGKONG:     South  East  Asia  Radio  Voice  hopes  to  begin  broad-
                casting  to  Burma  and  Thailand  after  June  this  year  when  the  assembl­
                ing  of  its   50,000  watt  short  wave  transmitter  is   installed  near  Manila.
                There  are  no  other  target  dates  yet  for  other  areas.

                ---WORKSHOPS:   AVEC  sponsored  several  small  broadcasting  workshops
                .for  pastors  involved  in  religious  broadcasting  over  Radio  Hong  Kong.
                Those  attending  included  both  Protestants  and  Roman  Catholics.  One
                guest  leader  was  Mr.  John  G roller,  senior  Producer  for  the  United
                Presbyterian  Church  in  the  U.S.A.  He  also  had  talks  with  responsible
                personnel  in  Radio  Hong  Kong.

         '  *    -‘LOCAL.  RADIO:  In  his  capacity  as  Secretary  for  both  the  English
                and  Chinese  Advisory  Committees  to  Radio  Hong  Kong,  the  Director
                is   involved  deeply  in  the  LOCAL  religious  broadcasting.  The  most
                important  work  is   currently  a  daily  TEN  TO  EIGHT  program.  The
                Advisory  Committees  are  also  exploring  the  TV  opportunities  but
                have  no  concrete  report  at  the  moment.

                VISUAL  AIDS  DEPARTMENT

                *  The  V-A  dept.  has  continued  promotion  through  the  monthly  mailings.

                *FILMS:    DAY  OF  TRIUMPH  is   a  2-hour  feature  length  color  film   on
                the  fin a l  days  of  Jesus  culminating  in  the  resurrection.-  We  owe
                a  debt  of  appreciation  to  the  Lui  Ming  Choi  Foundation  of  Hong  Kong
                for  their  making  it   possible  for  us  to  lease  this  film   for  10  years.
                Under  the  leadership  of  Rev.  Charles  Reihbrecht  we  were  able  to  screen
                this  now  film   in  the  City  Hall  Theatre  in  June  1966.

                ^FILMSTRIP  PROJECTS:      The  committee  has  been  involved  in  three

                productions;  HOW PERSONS  LEARN with  the  Christian  Education  Committee
                of  the  council;  series  of  pictures  with  the  HKWRC;  and  a  p ilo t  pro­
                ject  on  the  Parables  of  Jesus  with  the  Lutheran  World  Federation's
                Broadcasting  Services  o ffic e .

                CONCLUSION:  We  believe  that  the  Audio  Visual  Resources  are  effective
                means  of  communicating  the  Christian  Message  to  both  literates  and
                illite r a te s .  Therefore  we  resolve  to  place  at  your  disposal  the
                basic  techniques  for  the  effective  u tilisa tion   and  operation  o f  audio
                visual  resources.  We  intend  to  help  you  make  your  programs  of  out­
                reach  more  CREATIVE  AND  EFFECTIVE .

     X lll.  ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
                   The  Hong  Kong  Christian  Council  wishes  to  express  and  to  place
             on  record  its   sincere  appreciation  of  the  help  and  encouragement  given
             by  the  churches  and  so  many  friends  who  have  made  the  work  of  the  Council
             possible.  Although  it   would  be  impossible  to  supply  a  fu ll  l i s t ,  the
             Council  is   extremely  grateful  to  a ll  loca l  church  leaders,  both  clergy
