Move to Hong Kong Christian Centre
The second major concern o f the Council was the p ossib ility
of acquirihg o ffice space.in the new Hong Kong Christian Centre,
Metropole Building, 4/F, 57, Peking Road. The move to these new
quarters took place early in the new year. We anticipate that
the work of our Council w ill be strengthened through closer co
operation with other interdenomenational agencies, which w ill
also be accommodated in the now building. We would record our
appreciation to the Hong Kong Christian Council for making this
move possible.
New Projects Committees
Our Council’ s staff helped to further the development of tvo
projects to resettle boat squatters at Tai Po and Castle Peak.
We were also involved in Committees of the HK Council of Social
Service especially the Family Welfare Services and Educational
Sponsorship Committee.
Tours
Our tours twice-weekly to member agencies projects continued.
We were fortunate that the Hong Kong Council of Social Service bus
became available to us to use fo r our tours. In 1967 we hope to
have volunteer guides to assist us in this work.
Filmstrip
During 1966 wo began work on a film strip to show the work
of Council members over ihe past 10 years. This year we -are plan
ning to publish a monthly newsletter in English and Chinese to
members and friends of our Council.
Supporters
Overseas friends, especially the World Council of Churches,
the British Council of Churches and other National Councils,
Church bodies and individuals made over HK$650,000 available fo r
the social service work of our Council and its members. We would
record our appreciation to them for their most generous support.
Staff Matters
During the year there were a number of staff changes. Mr.

to the Youth of Hong Kong. His work in the Federation of Youth
Groups w ill long be remembered. Mr. J. Atkinson continued with
his duties in the Practical Training Centres and in helping Asian
