Broadcasting: Locally the Director serves on both the Chinese
and English Advisory Committees consulted by Radio Hong Kong. In
1965 both Committees inaugurated evaluation sessions with the help of
Radio Hong Kong. These are designed to improve the programs produced
by the churches. The English Committee did a listener survey which
resulted in a new program "Ten to Eight" begun in December. This is
heard in the mornings daily except Sundays. The Director of AVEC is
co-producer. Sunday Service, Mid-day Prayers, Crossroads and Epilogue
continue as in the past.
SEARV broadcasts are expected to begin in late 1966. The first
beam will be directed toward Burma and Thailand, with the Indonesia
and China beams being added at later intervals.
A WORD OF THANKS
The Hong Kong Christian Council desires to express and to place
on record its profound gratitude to the people who have made the work
Possible. Although it would be impossible to supply a full list, the
Council is extremely grateful to the busy ministers, hard-working laymen
and women, missionaries and lively young people whose help has been
invaluable.
We have to thank the churches for their participation and co-
operation in this ecumenical movement.
We w ould wish to record our gratitude to the European YMCA, the
Chinese YMCA and the YWCA for the use of their Committee Rooms for
our regular Committee Meetings. We must express our gratitude also
to our friends both local and abroad, for gifts and financial support
which they have contributed to strengthen our work.
