      A. Notable Events of the Year (Cont'd)

        2. Commonwealth Youth Sunday - May, 1961
As in previous years Commonwealth Youth Sunday was observed in the
Colony. Special services were arranged for young people and students on
        May 14th, 1961.

Both English and Chinese versions of the Queen's Message and Order
of Service were used in twenty churches throughout Hongkong, and the
services were attended by over two thousand students and representatives
        from Youth Organizations.

The Commonwealth Youth Sunday continues to make its contribution to
the spread of friendship between races, colours and nationalities and
we look forward with high hopes to the observances of 1962, and trust
that all who organize them will do their best to make this, the Silver
         Jubilee Year, specially memorable.

        3. Inter-Church Concern
Despite the fact that we have more than enough disasters and well-nigh
insoluble problems here in Hongkong, in Christ we are yet concerned about
        the need of other lands.

News of the flood disaster in Burma in August and September (the worst
for 29 years) aroused the concern of Christian Churches in Hongkong and
a donation of $180.00 was sent to the Burma Christian Council as a token
gift to express our concern and sympathy for the flood victims.

        4. Unifying Church Calendars
The Council made the suggestion to the Churches that certain special
Sundays might be included in their 1962 Calendars in accordance with a
unified scheme, so that we may be united on these occasions. The Sundays
         are as follows:-

                                 CHRISTIAN UNITY SUNDAY January 21st
                                 CHRISTIAN FAMILY SUNDAY May 13th
                                 COMMONWEALTH YOUTH SUNDAY June 3rd
                                 CHRISTIAN CITIZENSHIP SUNDAY July 15th
                                 CHRISTIAN LITERATURE SUNDAY September.9th
                                 MEDICAL SUNDAY October 21st

The above suggestions seem to have been received favourably and these
         Sundays will be widely observed.

         5. Delegates to the New Delhi Assembly
The Third Assembly of the World Council of Churches was held at New
Delhi, November 19 - December 5, 1961, the first assembly of this world
body ever held in Asia. There were in attendance 577 official delegates
representing member-churches in 64 countries and areas, and approximately
the same number of other participants such as fraternal delegates,
