                  Remarks

s we sum up another year's work, we want
to humbly offer our praise and thanks
A giving to God, who acts in human history. He
calls and directs many church leaders and a great
many pastors and lay persons to work together
for the Unity and Renewal of the Church.
         Through worshipping, praying, studying and
working together, churches from different back
grounds are drawn much closer —abandoning

         former prejudices and misunderstanding, willing
ly joining hands to work towards a more humane
and just society, and exploring together such
important questions as how to improve the
quality of life of the people in Hong Kong.
To conclude this report, I should like very much
to express profound appreciation to all those
who have participated in the life and work of the
Council over the past year. Firstly, I should like
