                                                               the District Council  Elections in 2007 to get their
                                                               viewpoint  on  the  issue.  In  2008,  the Alliance
                                                               updated  their  earlier  proposal  for  universal
                                                               retirement  protection  and  tried  to  gain  the
                                                               support of candidates  of the  Legislative  Council
                                                               election on this matter.


                                                               (7) Hong Kong Christian Alliance Concerning
                                                                  Globalization
                                                                   The Alliance, formed  by the Committee and
                Civil Society Forum  :  Democracy &  Universal Suffrage  other  Christian  groups,  organized  3  seminars
                                                               in  October 2007,  January  2008  and  May  2008
                                                               respectively with  the  theme  of "Leave  Grain  in
                (3)  Gambling Watch                            the Field  . Topics included: retirement protection,
                                                               mandatory medical fund and medical reform.
                    The  Committee  is  a  member  of  Gambling
                Watch.  The  Watch joined  a  protest  outside  the
                entrance  of  the  Hong  Kong  Jockey  Club  on
                September  10,  2007  to  oppose  the  Hong  Kong
                Jockey  Club  allowing  family  members  under  18
                to  enter  the  racecourse.  Also,  on  September
                17,  2008 the Committee met the Chairperson of
                the  Football  Betting  and  Lotteries  Commission,
                Mr.  Moses  Cheng  Mo-chi  and  launched  the
                complaint.  On April  3,  2008,  the  representative
                of the  Committee  attended  their  meeting  and
                expressed relevant opinions.
