        d e v e lo p m e n t.  T h e   sp o n so rship  covers  liv in g   costs,
        education, c lo th in g  and m edical care.  Since Ju ly 2002
        w hen the p ro je ct was launched, a tota l o f 357  orphans
       have been sponsored. The m a jo rity  o f them  com e fro m
        Y im e n g  C o u n ty  in   S handong P ro vin ce   and  Shangcai
       C o u n ty   in   H enan  P ro vin c e .  In   S hangcai  C o u n ty   in
       H enan  P ro vin ce ,  m ost o f the orphans  are  fro m  fa m i-
        lies  w here  the  parents  have  died  fro m  A ID S .  "R u ra l

       C h in a   O rphan  S ponsorship  P ro je ct"  p ro v id e d   a to ta l
