       1. New Arrivals
With the support of the CWM/Nethersole Fund,
the Council has launched a new project called “The
New Arrivals Christian Community Care Project” . It
motivates Christian women to participate in the com-
munity care project to serve the new arrivals who are
housewives. We believe that it is the call of our Lord
Jesus Christ who asks us to help those people in need

(Matthew 10:42). This project actualizes the teaching
of our Lord that the Christian women first receive cer-
tain training before they are sent out to render their
       service among the needy multitudes.

       2. Migrant Domestic Helpers
The marginalized people in Hong Kong are those
who have inadequate resources both in their financial
condition as well as their capability. However, there
are migrant domestic helpers who are being ignored
and deprived because of their identity and their job
nature. Being a channel of God’s grace and justice,
the Church must do something for them - to start with
the church members first to arouse a concern among
people from all walks of life. Therefore, a consulta-
tion took place on May 10, 2001 to explore to what
extent the Church may serve those migrant workers in
        Hong Kong.
The “We Love Hong Kong 2000” event
